If we put aside the sites that have developed through acquisition, and identified by an asterisk next to the name on the chart, that gives the following list of names familiar to most ...

1. Wordpress 64%
2. WeatherBug 59%
   Meteorological site.
3. Answers.com 58%
   Answers to questions from users.
4. Facebook.com 57%
5. Mozilla 40%

The list is based on the number of unique visitors.

Among the the most important advertising platforms are: Yahoo, Facebook, Microsoft, Google, eBay.

The first three advertisers are ATT, Microsoft and Apollo.
