Installing Seven
Some tips before to download and install Windows 7.
You have until 30 June 2009, roughly two months to download Windows 7, there is no need to rush because the servers are probably overloaded.
Have no fear, the number of versions and product keys will be provided unlimited.
You can get the DVD image from the following URL:
Windows 7 is supplied as an ISO image to burn on a blank DVD. If you have a recent system, just click from Explorer on the downloaded file to start burning.
Otherwise you must find the appropriate option in the interface of the burning software, but do not burn the image as a single file, it will be useless.
Before installing Windows 7, back up all your files on the disk.
You must achieve a clean install (all data erased on the disk) in the following cases:
- An OS other than Vista is installed on the hard disk.
- A previous beta version of Windows 7 is already installed.
Otherwise, if Vista is already installed, you can install Windows 7 on top without having to reinstall applications.
But it is still preferable to save your data.
Required configuration
- Memory: 1 Gb.
- Processor: 1 Ghz frequency (so Intel N270 is enough).
- Storage: 16 Gb.
- Graphics card supporting DirectX 9 with 128 mb memory.
